FRISCO, TX, (Mar. 7, 2017) – The Texas Legends (20-19) finished with seven players in double-digits in their 127-118 win over the Northern Arizona Suns (19-21) Tuesday night in Frisco.
The Suns grabbed the lead early and held on through most of the first half, taking a 56-52 advantage into the break. The Legends forged a 9-0 run midway through the third to take the edge and would hold a tight lead through the final minutes. Texas shot 56.3% in the second half, led in all categories by Jameel Warney with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. The two teams finished even on the boards, but Texas out-shot the visitors 49.5-46.4% and 42.3-37.5% outside.
The home team’s scoring was led by Ben Gordon who went 4-for-6 outside to grab 24 points. Warney finished the night with the team’s only double-double totaling 19 points, 12 rebounds. The D-League’s leading scorer, Manny Harris, added 21 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block, and Stephane Lasme continued his dominating post performance with 4 blocks to go with 15 points, 9 rebounds.
Elijah Millsap fell one assist shy of a triple-double in his team-leading performance for the Suns with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists. Askia Booker added 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Derek Cooke Jr. added another double-double for the Suns with 10 points, 11 boards.
